Northbay Baptist Church: Niceville, Florida

Rev. David DuVall is our senior pastor. David is also an NCCA licensed Pastoral Counselor and offers a counseling ministry called "Deep Waters Counseling" through Northbay Baptist church.

He has a bachelor's degree from the Baptist College of Florida and a master's degree from Cornerstone University.

He and his wife, Amy, have been married since 1987 and they have three daughters. He is also a native of Destin, Florida.

Ben Shuman is our Youth Leader. He has been in youth ministry since 1995 and has been at Northbay since 2002. He has a passion for seeing youth come to know the Lord.

Ben is from Mississippi and is married with two children. His wife Luvenia is dedicated to the youth as well and they both are involved in various aspects of the churches ministry.

At Northbay we take the biblical approach to church leadership by employing the office of Elders. While the pastor is the chief elder he must also rely on the voice of wise counselors and on the strong arm of others who may help to carry the burdens of ministry leadership. Through a team of Elders we lead our church in the direction and ways that we sense God calling us to through much prayer and submission to Him.

These following men are the Elders of our church that assist the pastor in leadership.

Mike Stanfill has served Northbay Church since the early 1990’s. He has served as a deacon and teacher and on various ministry teams. His wife Mary has been a member since childhood. They both serve with great dedication and love.

Ben Shuman has served the church as a youth pastor since 2001. He has also served our country in the Air Force as his wife also has. He is an avid supporter of the fact that we need quiet time with the lord each day.

George Robertson has a great spirit and gift of compassion and mercy. He is a man of calm assurance and peace. He prepares breakfast each Sunday for our membership and is involved in the Discipleship of new Christians.

Rodney Rutherford is a long time member of the community and a leader in the business world. He has great experience in working with people to accomplish a desired end. He and his wife are teachers wit in the children’s department of our church. Christians.

Ken Glover serves currently as our Leader of Deacon Ministry. He has been a member of Northbay Baptist since 1994 and has served the church faithfully along with his wife Shirley.

Ken also served our country in the Air Force for 31 years and retired as Chief Master Sergeant. He is a valuable asset to his church and community.

Bobby Patrick is our Sunday school director. He helps to provide organization and training for our teachers as well as prayer for this important part of our church.

Bobby is married to Linda Patrick. They have been a long time resident of the Seminole/Niceville community.

Robin Robertson is our VOM Leader. She leads us in partnering with Voice of the Martyrs to reach out to our brothers and sisters in Christ who are suffering persecution for their faith around the world. She has a passion for missions across the globe and is instrumental in supporting those on the mission field.

Robin is married to Elder George Robertson and they live in the nearby community of Choctaw Beach.

Our deacons serve the church through ministering to the needs of the widows, the sick and the down trodden specifically.

They also serve our families overall through prayer, visitation and general love by being there for them in times of need.

Deacon Team

Amy DuVall is serving as Northbay’s secretary. She is the pastor’s wife and therefore helps in many various ministries of the church. She is a Fort Walton Beach native and mother of three.

Amy accepted Jesus as her savior in 1991.

Sandy Garris is our children’s director. She is a certified teacher and she also has operated a daycare, as well as a foster home, for children in need.

Sandy and her husband John Garris have been a part of the community and Northbay Baptist Church for many years.

Greg Wade is the AWANA Commander for our Wednesday night Children’s AWANA program. He is Northbay’s first AWANA Commander. He has a desire to reach boys & girls with the gospel of Christ and to train them to serve God using the AWANA ministry at Northbay Baptist Church.

Greg is married to Lisa Wade who also serves in the AWANA ministry and plays the piano for Northbay.

Krystal DuVall is our children’s church teacher. She enjoys working with children and teaching them about God’s word. She was saved at the age of eight.

Krystal has served the Lord since she was a young child assisting in revivals, VBS, faith fairs and many other ways.
